VOM or VTVM precision resistor trimmers

Just curious... Why wouldn't you include trimmer pots in VOM and VTVMs for the precision resistors for Ohms or Volts?

For volts I guess it is a matter of power/heat? But for ohm readings?

Just curious. Anyone ever seen this? Sometimes you find a meter that is just a little bit out, and it would be nice to be able to tune it rather than simply replace the resistor.
