vtech cs6129-31 repair part identification

I'm trying to fix my 2nd handset for a pair of wireless phones, the working phone has a blue stripe on the highlighted part (diode?) d6, while the non-working phone has a more charred look. otherwise both pcb's look the same under a magnifying lamp. can anyone advise how to test/identify the part? my tool list consists of: soldering iron, desoldering iron, multimeter, and bench psu.

The component seems to be a diode, what kind is difficult to say. You will need to desolder the one with the markings, to identify the diode. The 2 diodes seems different but are the same from another manufacturer .Test them with the multimeter , in diode mode . The blue stripe is the cathode.
