Wavetek 148A --component ID needed (with photo)
« on: March 08, 2017, 08:27:31 pm »
Dear all,
I was browsing a local junk store and I could not resist the temptation to preserve it.
The general appearance was very good so I bought it reaaaaaly cheap.
First attempt to power on was unsuccessful.
Found a copy of the manual for the 148 online and downloaded it.
After opening the case, the first culprit was evident -- A blown component, probably a Tantalum capacitor (see picture).
Unfortunately the 148A has a different circuit from the 148 and I need to find this part id.
Can anyone help me on this issue.
Thanks

Maybe this might lead you in the right direction on some part info since it is hard to see the pic, at least on my iPad mini. It has some details at the end.
