Weird issue with laptop screen
« on: September 20, 2022, 06:00:30 pm »
Hi, I have a ThinkPad L420 that I have been using for a very long time (More than 9 years now). It still works fine but the screen gave up with a strange fault. I don't know how to describe it, it is kinda lagging and dragging contents. when things on the display changes the previously displayed content stays for a while and slowly fades away. There is no problem with an external monitor it's just with the laptop screen. I have tried reinstalling the drivers and it gave me an error message saying, "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems (Code 43)". I also tried reseating the RAM sticks and the processor, but it didn't change anything.
It is very old and there is no point in using it anymore but I'm just curious to know what the problem might be!

Here is a video of the screen: https://1drv.ms/u/s!Atxh0g8rKAR_jSrj6m4Mcf4D2Okd?e=qZrcKJ

LCD panel or display cable. Often it’s the LCD Panel itself
