What can I use to programme a dsPIC33F?
« on: May 22, 2020, 01:08:30 pm »
A telescope mount controller I have to repair drives the motor H-Bridge using a programmed DSPIC33FJ12MC201 IC.

So far so good - but one of them has gone bad :(

If I can pry the firmware image out of the supplier - what can I use to programme these babies - neither my Galep-4, nor my Dataman 48XP recognise that the DSPIC33 exists :(

There's a fix pin socket (0.1" pitch I think) right next to the IC which is clearly intended for programming it with pin 1 to Vpp, 2 to Vcc, 3 to Gnd, 4 to PGD, and 5 to PGC I htinkn these are referred to as PIC ICSP MINI 5 PIN sockets.

Thanks
David

Most of the Microchip programmers can program and debug that chip:

Of course later versions of the same devices can too, like PK4 and ICD4.

Looks like the PicKit4 is what I need.  That ICD4 is a touch too spendy!

Thanks
