Hi guys,
I’ve got a **Quick 706 (non-W)** station and both the hot-air gun and soldering iron handles are dead and not usable.
But I do have **two handles from a Gordak 952** (hot-air + iron).
I’m wondering if it’s possible to use the Gordak handles as replacements for the Quick ones?

It looks like the **wire count and pinout** on the Gordak handles are different from the original Quick handles, so I’m not sure if they’re compatible.

If anyone has experience with this or can guide me on how to match the wiring/pinout, I’d really appreciate it.
If u need pics of the connectors or wiring, just let me know and I’ll upload them.

Thanks!

Are you sure the station itself is not dead, and its both handles that failed at different times?

Gordak is a lot weaker at 270W but it might work. You'd have to figure out which pins are heater, thermocouple, magnet, etc.

Why do you need handles when you can just replace heating elements? For hot air it would be less work too.

Hi,
The device itself is working fine, but the problem is that I don’t have any information about the pinout of the Gordak handles or the Quick handles.
I need to know which pins belong to the heater element and which belong to the sensor so I can connect the Gordak handles correctly.
If anyone knows the correct pin configuration, please guide me.
Thanks in advance

Hi dear friend,
The original handles of the station are gone and not available anymore, and I would like to use these Gordak handles instead of buying new Quick handles.

You can figure out the pins by yourself, but now that you've "lost" the original handles you'll have to take apart the unit or find its pinout online, as you'll have to figure out both sides.

The thermocouple will have low resistance (<1ohm), the heater coil will have moderate resistance (50-100 ohm or so).
Earth pin will be green or yellow and connected to the metal cover on the heater.
