Where to find HDMI retimer chip on Xbox One motherboard?
« on: October 29, 2022, 09:09:02 pm »
Hi guys, I wanted to replace the HDMI retimer since my HDMI port is fine and the Xbox isn´t showing any image, but I can´t even find the chip on the motherboard. I have looked for TDP158 and 75DP159, but can´t find any of those chips.

All the videos that I´ve watched on YT seems to have a different motherboard than mine. I don´t even know which version of Xbox I have, since I´ve bought it used and it says Model 1540 underneath of the console.

There isn't any.

The Xbox One S has a HDMI retimer.

Thanks, if there is no HDMI retimer, then I don´t know where the problem is  :-// The pins from HDMI-Port are all fine, couldn´t find any issue there. I´ve also tried to reset the image resolution (by pressing Eject and Power button), but still no image. I couldn´t find any burned components either

Sorry, don't mean to insult.
I had problems with no HDMI picture on my Xbox One and the first time it was a bad cable, the second time I connected the cable to the input instead of output.

Measure resistances on HDMI TMDS lines to GND. Dunno about Xbox one in particular, but usually you should get something in megaohm range and almost the same for all pins. Also it's best to manually select the maximum resistance range your multimeter has. If some pin has much lower resistance that others, then either the chip outputting video or ESD protection device is damaged. If completely open, more likely some small filter or ESD protection device knocked off the board.  If resistances are ok, then port is likely fine. Also you should check DDC lines and if 5V is present on the port.

It´s fine, I´m pretty sure that everyone has been on that path in their life. Cable and correct HDMI-Port are all good.

Today I tried to install the updates using an USB-Stick, hoping that the hard drive must be faulty, but nothing  :-// there should be 2 "beeps", but I hear only one. I will follow your suggestion when I open it again, I hope something is damaged on the board ::)
