Xytronic 379 solder station - broken heater element - repair or replace?

Hello-
Brand new to the forum. I have a Xytronic 379 soldering station that I've had for a number of years. It stopped working yesterday and I just found that the heater element is physically broken. Does it make sense for me to replace the element (it would cost me $25 shipped from the one vendor I found online) or just buy a new soldering station? One thing I've always disliked about the iron is that the plastic threaded cap comes loose if a little pressure is applied with the iron.
I was just browsing Amazon for soldering stations. I was contemplating this Sealody SSA51.

Any thoughts for this amateur? I typically use the iron to do occasional modifications and repairs to my guitars, amps, and various other small projects.
