Yamaha dsp-az1 dead AV amp
« on: November 23, 2020, 11:49:51 am »
Im struggling with Yamaha DSP-AZ1 (aka RX-Z1) amplituner.
Its not coming on, cant force the DIAG mode - nothing.
All voltages are there but the standby supply is quite low 9V instead of 13V, there is oscillation on the main chip, and also the signal from the on-off switch is there.
There is a significant voltage drop on the +5V rail for the CPU.
Under thermal cam only the main CPU and the voltage reg are getting hot.
After taking the chip out everything cools down.
My assumption is - faulty main chip.
The main chip is M30624FGAFP 16bit µ-COM - it has rs232 communication, but i cannot find any roms for it or even flashing soft.
I've recently acquired an second identical fully working unit.
Is there a possibility to duplicate the main chip software?
Or maybe someone has access to the Yamaha software:
Z1Flash.exe and Z1_MainI33IC.mot

The Main microprocessor has a flash rom embedded inside.
If it is getting hot, you can still read the programme.  The
flash rom may be not damaged.
