Yamaha RX V3071 HDMI no sound but everything else works

Can anyone help me with this Yamaha. Everything works except the sound on the HDMI inputs. As soon as I plug the hdmi cable in the speaker icons on the display disappear, when I remove the cable they come back. I am wondering if it is one of the hdmi switching IC's?????
Any suggestions?
