Yamaha RX-V683 power issue
« on: May 28, 2022, 06:21:00 pm »
Hi,

My house got hit by lightning. When I turn on the Yamaha RX-v683 the red LED flashes. I've bypassed the power protect mode by holding down the tone+info+ power and the receiver briefly flashes "PST PRT 158".

After I get to this screen, pressing the screen 1 button to cycle gives the following:
S4-1 System: 2.87
S3-1 Preset: INHI
S2-1 MDL:V683 255
P2-1 1.PS2 158
P1-1 DC: 51
T4-1 1.PS2 158
T1-1 RL 713D1D13H53M

If I do the test all, the speaker outputs do work (static). If I test individual speaker outputs I do hear a tone on each one (including FP L/R). I tested with one speaker and moved it to different outputs.

Does anyone have any advice on how to troubleshoot this further, or know where I can get the service manual?

Thanks!

James
