zurich dps-1512m power supply
« on: December 07, 2016, 02:19:50 am »
Has anyone done a repair on one of these power supplies?
Mine has gone tits up and will not regulate the voltage. I set it to 13.8 volts bub as soon as I put a load on to it at just 3 amps the voltage will drop to 7.2 volts.
Anyone got a schematic for this unit?

Just let you all know I have repaired this power supply now. The fault was a electrolytic capacitor that had gone intermittent internally.
Never had that before.
Interesting fault. It would work then not work, but found that by moving the components with a light tap I closed it down to one cap. Each time I moved it, it would ether work or not work. I just re soldered it to begin with but that made no difference. So I replaced it. Now its working correctly all the time. I tested the cap and found again when I moved the + lead it would stop working as a capacitor.

I've have had bad solder joints before but not and internal intermittent connection on a capacitor.
Interesting.
