ANBERNIC Q2 - Retro Handheld - teardown
« on: September 16, 2020, 05:19:18 am »
Hi Guys,

I came across this dirt cheap handheld gadget and could not find any information on it. So I decided to purchage one and open it up to see what makes it tick.

It's called the ANBERNIC Q2, product link here:
https://www.banggood.com/ANBERNIC-Q2-8GB-1000-Games-Retro-Handheld-Video-Game-Console-NES-SFC-GBA-FBA-SMD-Game-Player-Support-Dual-Player-With-Gamepad-p-1727965.html

The main SoC is a qfn 144 chip. The package seems to be remarked, so no useful information on this. Notice that there isn't a RAM to be found. Could it be that this is a System in Package with the RAM die inside ?!
There is also a SPI flash: 25Q128FV.

Let me know what you think.

Anbernic is a chinese brand, i just notice a handheld game called playdate, in my view this anbernic Q2 is a cheap replica of the playdate, and as a chinese i didnot find this in china shopping app so i think it is face for foreign mark. i am interested in this games consoleļ¼Œbut i also cannot find more infomation, now i try to join the official group to ask them
