Another LCR meter topic
« on: October 13, 2012, 12:04:41 am »

Does anyone has experience with this one. I like the compact format and quick measure mode, but it is a bit dissapointing it is only 0.01% and probably better. They are real cheap for sale at IET labs.   http://www.ietlabs.com/capacitance/capacitance-meter-bridge/genrad-1620-capaitance-bridge.html
To bad resolution is only 10E-5 pF. But until I can affort a Unit-T or other Chinese topbrand I must do it with this.

Oops, LCR, so I need this for L an R

Also nice and portable, the bummer is it only has 200pH resolution, Nah, can't have it all

You want a tear down ? No problem. A GR1608, small compact LCRG meter:

Had to change all germanium, wrote a letter to General Radio that it is really a bad thing the germanium transistors only lasted 50 years but I never get an answer so company support is not what it used to be. But, thank God, we have Henry Hall, and he still gives good support so all got well in the end. (Hall is the man who made allmost all GR bridges and now in his 80's)

Ok one for the road, but this is realy big, not for portable use:

Hmm, I think I have a language problem, always mix up large and small, good and bad, but the doctor said it is either denile or a virus  8)

I love it.  I'm not sure it would survive the drop test though :(

Yes, but these won't work properly unless set up on big mahogany desks and operated by men in business suits or white lab coats.

This is definitely a white lab coat thing. Oh, how I miss the times when wearing a white lab coat with one (only one!) pen in the pocket was all the rage and imperative when you were a working engineer.

Please spend one dollar for a prying tool to rip out the shift key of your keyboard.

My smallest bridge.

3 pF or 3 uH full scale. Real nice thing and handy zero function. Clever deign and even more clever calibration option. But I miss the calibration adapter. Not a problem, i have standards but it would be nice to have

Juiceking, the only thing missing in my collection, a white coat and such a thing to put pens in so you can put them im your pocked  ;)

And an electronics sliderule, love to have one that converts lings like Cs to Cp or calcuate reactance ect.

And there was one that HP made for network analyse work. It converts RL to Z ect.

Probably if I look on ebay i will find one but no clue about brands and types and no ebay account, so i then end up with just the wrong one ( i have two nomal sliderules, not because i used to work with them, i'm no old enough for that, but they helped me to get a better understanding for math and numbers because I have dyscalculus)

Sorry ,
i Have a habit in writing in title case .I try to write in the way it should but its a old dirty habit .I am sick of people pointing out here .Even my website is using title case  .Its a habit that will die with me ,But i always try .I feel quite hurt when someone out of the blue just keep pointing it again and again .
