Help with Skytronic 0-20V 2A bench PSU
« on: May 10, 2014, 08:08:50 am »
Hi guys,

The primary winding in the transformer in my skytronic psu has gone open circuit. There was a sticker on it which gave the details of it but that seems to have come off and dissapeared into the same place all the odd socks got to. It looks like the secondary is a centre tapped 24v winding with a second winding coming off it. This second winding i have no idea of the voltage. The regulator board is LM723 based. Does anybody have the same PSU and be willing to open it up to give me details of the transformer so i can get a replacement, or know of a circuit diagram anywhere?

I managed to get a generic picture of the supply in case someone has a similar re-badged one.

Thanks for that. Thats just what was needed. It seems the 2A 130 degree thermal fuse tucked into the primary windings insulation tape had blown. Seems i did not heed the warning in the manual about leaving it switched on..... Whist its apart i think i will fit a small fan to cool the internals a bit and not use this particular supply for extended periods. At least a thermal fuse was fitted.. :phew:
