What are the best work lights for benchtop extra illumination?

Honestly if you have the room its almost always better then trying to setup crazy lights in your room because face it, the chassis is not going to cooperate, and neither will anything but the flattest of PCB.

What are the best battery powered portable worklights ? Hopefully some sort of corn-cob light

I have a microscope light up on a shelf above the bench. It has a pair of gossenecks carrying a very focused LED light at the end. It is really useful for when you want to get a lot of light onto your area of interest without having to light up the whole room ridiculously bright. The optics on those LEDs focus the light into a tight beam so you can get a nice small bright spot from quite a large distance away (so the light doesn't get in the way while you work).

Next one is just a simple single 18650 cell powered flashlight, good for just waving around and shining deep into some deep dark spots.

Another is a cheep USB rechargeable work light that has the LEDs mounted on a separate flip out flap that stays at any angle, this one is useful when working down under desks or other tight spots where you can't easily hold your light. So you can set it down on any flat surface and angle the flat LED panel to put light in the direction you need.

Head strap mounted LED lights are also an option, but i haven't really been using those very much.

I am thinking of a COB light on a goose neck. I see they sell them for BBQ. It might just need a partial cover to restrict the light to a narrower angle.
