Budget Audio Amplifier/Receiver
(1/1)
metrologist:
I wanted to put something in my music studio and connect my edrums and listen to music.
I found this class of devices and was considering this one:

I picked this one because it has a headphone jack, otherwise there is a similar model that has a better THD spec (<1% vs <0.1%), assuming it's not a typo...
Here is a repair video of the latter. What I gather is they are OK build, but may have underspec'd components or marginal designs as suggested in the video. I was also wondering what class amplifier these are.
If a no-go, then I have my old Realistic STA-2700.
metrologist:
I bought a newer version of the one in the video. I'd like to know what class amplification.
Here is a frequency response of my Galaxy cell phone mic using said amp bed by a Feeltech generator and ADS710 speakers.
It looks bass heavy? Well, that's because I cranked the bass knob and forgot about it.
metrologist:
This POS!
The left channel started fading 3/4 of its volume. Like I'd be listening to a YouTube channel at relatively low volume and suddenly it sounds like only the right speaker. I tried the FM tuner, BT, and different line inputs and same - and balance knob verified left channel is almost null. Then after having it off for a while it would be normal for a bit.
Now I gotta send this Pyle of Shyt back.
