Manufacturing an Atten AT852D hot air station - Factory video
« on: December 09, 2020, 12:58:46 pm »
Hi,

I was looking for reviews of some low end hot air stations and came across the video below. It shows how they put together the AT852D hot air station at the factory.

Something I notice about air stations in general, it that they either use centrifugal fans (quiet) or diaphragm pumps (louder). All the diaphragm pumps seem to have a white expansion bottle between the pump and air outlet. I assume this is to trap condensation, and prevent it from collecting in the hose after the outlet in humid environments. I don't see these bottles on the centrifugal blowers.

Is there any preference to pump types on air stations? If there's no difference, the blower type is simpler and has less to go wrong.

For comparison, there's an open case review of a Quick 857DW+ air station here, that uses a centrifugal blower.
