Crocodile clip insulation
« on: October 16, 2019, 03:57:06 am »
I have an issue with the mini crocodile clip PVC insulation sleeve going hard, it makes it very stiff to operate the jaws. I am not sure why they not as pliable anymore maybe the plastic storage case for storage is causing some reaction to the sleeves.

Most branded crocodile clips sell sleeves seperately, I can replace but this is alot of work I will have to cut and resolder the wires.

So I am thinking of painting or dipin the body in some sort of thick coating maybe epoxy? Is there anything permanent I can use to coat the body? Most of my projects are low voltage under 24v. Any suggestions for black and red coating?

Get silicone rubber based croc clip covers, PVC will degrade over time.
Get them from reputable sources, ie not ebay or amazon.
Keep them away from natural rubber and sunlight.
