Desoldering vaccum under ~$200, thinking ZD-915?
« on: April 15, 2020, 01:53:24 pm »
I haven't had a desoldering iron since my old Hakko 808 stopped working reliably a few years ago. Just been using wick. I am looking at the ZD-915 and the SS-331H, both seem to be reasonably priced and have decent reviews after being sold for a few years. Are there any other options i may be overlooking? I'm sick of poking conical tips thru pcb holes to open them back up  :=\

The ZD series tends to have control board failures. There's firmware for early units but not for later units (anything made in the last 5+ years).

Parts are plentiful and cheap as long as it relates to the handpiece.

Haven't used the other.
