While looking for something else I came across this site:

There are various other machines there, not all of them with internal pics of guts, but very interesting all the same. On this particular device I found the anti-tamper system very interesting:

(removal or destruction of the cover would result in detection and anti tamper action)
There's also a photosensor. They took it seriously.

I would be interested in how the random noise generator worked on the gretacoder 720. Built with 2 video amplifiers. Time to tinker, but need to research it first.
