Lets see your Nixie Tube equipment

One of my HP 740B DC Voltage Standard/Differential Voltmeters.  On its side for troubleshooting.  The Nixie tubes display the knob positions, they don't dynamically change with input voltage.  So just an electronic version of the mechanical digit wheels on a Fluke differential voltmeter.

How ... naff!

The only reason I can think of for that is marketing run wild - possibly due to an (ignorant?) large customer wanting it.

HP 740: It saves room on the front panel.  As you can see, there is none to spare - they even put the input/output binding posts on cables.

I wish they'd allowed you to turn the knobs from 9 to 0 instead of forcing you to crank all the way CCW.  Dialing it up and down to follow a varying input is clunky, probably a reason differential voltmeters were discarded when DVMs came on the scene.  But they can do things you can't do with a DVM and that's why I keep them.

Restoring it would not have been possible without the service manual which I was lucky to find.

Fluke 8100: I don't know why they restricted it to 12000 counts, they could have done 16000 with virtually no changes.

Cool thread. I have one of those Flukes (w/o that option with the needle) and this HEB Digimeter 702. There's some filtering in the window, the Nixies look a bit red.

You'll see it in the repair section soon enough because it's got an intermittent fault.

Does an early digital calculator count as "equipment"?

No "=" key, not HP, approx 1971 i.e. pre-HP35, four circular ICs, six signal transformers, four PCBs with wiring harness interconnections.

Oh you gave me a pain.  In my 20's I had a complete working Wang 360SE system including a CP-1 card reader and one of the keyboards was a 360KT trig model.  I gave it away.
