Yamaha SPX900 Multi Effects Processor(1988)
« on: November 01, 2016, 11:56:53 pm »
Hi Everyone,
I'm a guitar player. I bought a Yamaha SPX900 from 1988 back in March of this year. I thought I would post about it here as Dave has teared down other Yamaha studio/audio gear.  It is an amazing piece of equipment. These first came out in 1988. Still to this day it is in 99% working condition. The one I bought has 2 minor problems. It has a level output pot that is scratchy(which is easy solved with spraying some electrical contact spray on it). The other issue with it is the soldered in CR2032 battery for the presets in it has low power(It needs replacing).

The design of this piece of equipment is amazing. It is a top quality. I am going to link a picture of the internals of it. The best thing about it is was I only paid £100 for it off Ebay. Normally they go for anywhere from £125 to £200. The sound quality of this unit is fantastic. It is as great sounding as a Lexicon PCM70 or a TC Electronic 2290.

I really enjoy watching Dave's videos. I am learning alot about electronics.
