VitaChip
« on: May 13, 2015, 01:41:27 pm »
Hi everybody,

first of all, since this is my first post on this forum, thank you all for helping to build this wonderful community. I have been reading the forum for a while now, and I have learned quite a lot already. I'm into electronics since the age of 5 or 6 and now I'm in the middle of designing my first L-Band receiver. So much for the background, now on to the topic.

A friend of mine asked me about a new product she has found-- the VitaChip! She wanted to know how it works. Apparently, a few wise guys have decided to 3D print some plastic chips and sell them to esoteric people, claiming it will somehow convert EM waves and make them feel good or something. By now, they are probably into volume production from what I have heard so far. Yes, I know, it hurts.

The reason I'm writing this is: Is anyone here willing to put $50 on this piece of crap, and tear it down to see whether there is actually *something* in there besides just plastic? Maybe the producers are even willing to send one for review? :-DD

If you have never heard of this revolutionary product that will change your life, here you go (protect your head before reading this crap, because you'll be bashing it against the table):

Have fun :)

The frightening thing is the people that fund this nonsense probably will feel better afterwards.
There are lies, damned lies, statistics - and ADC/DAC specs.

She wanted to know how it works.
Simple.
-Make inert plastic chips.
-Claim it cleanses electromagnetic pollution, back this up with fake testimonials.
-Gullible people will buy it.
-Gullible people will convince themselves that they feel better because of it, after all, they did spend €50 on it.
-Gullible people will buy more and convince other gullible people to buy this.
-Repeat.
-Profit.

If we all *ahem* chip in it wouldn't be expensive for anyone.

This technology does work for some people. Wikipedia has an excellent page about it here:

Sometimes I think about making a bullshit product like that to subsidize my real work. Maybe an Arduino-compatible, Bluetooth-enabled, IoT dream catcher that tweets when it catches a bad vibe. Hmm... I smell a Kickstarter campaign.

No need to waste money to buy one of those 'chips'. In the web page for another company founded by the same vita-chip CEOs there is an accurate scientific  ;D description of what a bio-transmitter like the vita-chip does:
Quote
The active Bio-transmitter of ac blue planet, the Vita chip, is composed of various pure mineral crystals as well as embedded magnetite within a carrier; which is made of recycled PVC plastic.?

Depending on the application and use of the Vita chip the composition of the crystals varies as well as the programming of the magnetite. The result is a highly complex instrument that transforms spurious oscillations (counters disharmonic vibrations) and harmonizes with the corresponding counter-vibration. These counter oscillations act in resonance with our body and lead to convincing results: The vitality and energy level is continuously and in an impressive way raised and stabilized at high levels.?

I wonder if it would help also to improve the specs of my cheapie signal generator....  :-DD

How about a kickstarter campaign to develop tools that will make people rich when they start their own kickstarter campaign?

I know the "CEO" of ac blue planet. He is actually convinced, that those vita chips have some positive effects. They really only contain some powders, as I heard from people he gave some of them for free. Well,  :bullshit:
