Hantek DSO5072P Setup / Startup Problems

Having trouble communicating with my Hantek DSO5072P after rebuilding my laptop.  I've done all of the obvious, including a manual install of the device drivers, etc.  Still can't get past the error below:

"PLEASE CHECK THE OSCILLOSCOPE WHETHER ALREADY CONNECTED." 

Again, done all of the obvious - rebooted everything, reloaded firmware, etc. 

Thanks for any help you can provide...  I am a mechanical engineer but do have a pretty good instrumentation / electronics / programming background and looking forward to getting this unit working again. 

Once working, would like to do cursor measurements on the laptop so I can broadcast on the big screen for my STEM class to see if possible.  To the best of my knowledge, there is little to no documentation on how to use the Hantek software.  Need some help here also (eventually)...
