High speed pyroelectricity sensor
« on: September 15, 2014, 10:27:52 am »
Hi,
I’m looking for a sensor that is capable to measures contactless very short temperature pluses. There are some papers out that talking about commercial pyroelectric thin film sensors for measuring laser pulses, but I can’t find any commercial source. Does anyone have an idea where to get such sensors? The time constant must be below 100 µs, better 10 µs.
Thx!

Hamamatsu make a lot of exotic & oddball optical sensors - may be worth  a look there
Youtube channel:Taking wierd stuff apart. Very apart.
Mike's Electric Stuff: High voltage, vintage electronics etc.
Day Job: Mostly LEDs

Thx Mike,
Hamamatsu has really tons of different fancy ir sensors. It seems that photoconductive (never herd before of them) PbSe-Sensors are much better for fast operation at 4 um wavelength. They went down below 10 us rise time, piezoelectric sensors aren’t faster than 10 ms. But they aren’t super cheap…
