Has anyone had experience upgrading a older FM-203 to work with the FM-2030 heavy duty handpiece? I see that per Hakko's knowledgebase, certain early SNs require an upgrade, although I'm not certain if this entails a new control PCB swapped in or if they simply flash the MCU and send it back. Either way, they claim it is not field serviceable.
What I can tell looking inside the unit in question is that the MCU is a Renesas R5F21258SNFP. Board marking is FM-203 M1285-A11 and there is what I assume to be a programming header as well.
Just curious if anyone has been through this or can offer any suggestions.
