Help diagnosing HAKKO FR802 hot air rework station
« on: March 30, 2025, 11:35:40 am »
I have one of these throwing a S-E error

The manual is attached and says to measure the value of the sensor being 0 ohms with no further instructions.

Has anyone made this measurement that has some more detail as to where to measure?

I have one of these, I think the issue is you're missing the plastic key that goes in the front of the unit? If you're missing the key you can put something else in there, you just have to cover the sensor to bypass it.

SE usually means sensor error on other hakko units: https://hakkousa.com/whats-new/commonerrorsandmeanings.html
So maybe there is a break in the thermocouple connection inside the handpiece.

Take apart and measure the heater coil resistance, look for any broken nichrome (or whatever it is). The thermocouple will be right at the tip where the air exits.
