KSGER T12 v3.1 unstable temperature with certain tips
« on: January 17, 2022, 07:36:55 pm »
hello, first off I know the issue with temperature instability has been talked about before.

in my experience specifically with 2 tips, i assume what's happening is that the temperature overshoots, the station stops power to let it cool down, but it doesn't start power until it is well below the set temperature, causing it to overshoot again and do the same thing.

i have already read around the forums, and as far as I know, the solution was to add some kind of fast recovery diode across the heater to alleviate a negative voltage spike.

However, that solution was for v2.1 boards and it seems it has already been implemented in v3.1 boards in the form of D1, but it doesn't seem to work as you can tell.

It's likely that there is a solution for the problem on v3.1 boards hidden in the forums, meaning I didn't read far enough.
Or im just dumb  |O

Notes
tips I'm actually having this problem with:
KSGER: T12-BCM2
Hakko: T15-D12
I am using the original firmware
