LeCroy WaveAce 1000 / 2000 series

By accident I came across the 'new' 1000 / 2000 series oscilloscopes.

I've had a quick glance at the specs. Except for 'deep memory' and a wide-screen, they seem to be pretty much the same as the older WaveAce ones. The case looks a bit different. It's even got a rounded edge, much like the Agilent 2000/3000 ones. Buttons and UI look the same to me.

I'd certainly like to find out if they still have the same deficiencies as their predecessors. On the other hand, I think I have had enough contact with products bearing that name.

I am surprised you'd consider another WaveAce after what you've been through.  If they lend you that model for evaluation before buying, that would be better, you could write the CEO and see what happens. You've done well so far.  I think if it survives your scrutiny, it would speak highly for them, if they don't lend it to you, you've nothing to lose and they'll lose a potential customer.

They look suspiciously like Atten/Siglent. I didn't search for the exact model, but the S icon in the scope's status bare gives it away. Looks like a cookie from PackMan, someone already took a few bites from.

No I don't! I just wanted to see if any new firmware for the 224 had been released and accidentally saw these. I wonder if they will discontinue or flog off the older ones pretty soon.

I think I will go for the Hameg HMO2024. I've read a couple of very positive blog posts about it. The Rigol4000 looks interesting too (memory depth), but bus decoding costs too much for my liking.
