KSGER soldering station with 12V C210 JBC tip

I would like to talk here the options for JBC C210 tip to work on KSGER controller.
Especially about the power supply options.
I tried to adapt this 24V supply by replacing R5 with a smaller value, but it's not stable at 12V.


Tried this with the 6A blue board too, but same problem.

The problem is that the controller gets its own power from a secondary.
If you lower a lot the output, the controller will also receive less voltage, and trigger the Under voltage protection. And it will start oscillating.
You  could power it with a small 12v charger. Then it shouldn't have much problem.

The controller under voltage protection is not a problem. You can set the level at lower value, so it will work fine at 12V too. Mine it actually work with 12V.
Problem is the power supply itself. I want to use in the same case, with a 83x83mm power supply, not with external one.

How to youy know that? If you say it's unstable... what happens? goes crazy to ex. 15V, then to 6, then to 15?
Thatis what happened to me when I tried exactly that few years ago, trying to get 5V from a 12V adapter.
Measured the controller VCC (It's live connection, be careful) I clearly could seehow it got to 12V, then to 8 and the controller resetted.
The controller datasheet said that minimum VCC was 9V, so that was the problem. Or you change the aux secondary with more turns, or you set higher voltage

Remember that you can adjust the max pwm duty in the settings.
Set it to 25% and the power at 24V will be equivalent to 100% at 12V.

That power supply is apparently not so great, this guy did a bunch of mods to get it stable and low EMI just for 25V. They up-sized the mains capacitors from 2x22uF to 2x47uF, output capacitors to 3x820uF, added 0.1uF ceramics and more.

Is it perhaps possible to build some sort of adapter to have JBC handles and tips,with all the electronics inside the adapter?

I already upgraded the capacitors to 2x47uF. It's ok for 24V, but when modified can't deliver stable 12V output (it varies 3-4V around 12V).
So i just found a 12V power supply and hope to solve it.

That is available only on your fw. The KSGER fw doesn't have such a setting.

All done. C210 tip is working great on this project.

Can you provide more details how you achieved this?

Is this a hardware mod or a software mod?

Can you switch between using the JBC handle and the KSGER handle or can you only use one type?
