What is the current situation for maker-friendly cell phones? (including phones people make themselves, especially kits?) A few years ago I saw a very nice phone made from a Raspberry Pi for example.
It would be great to be able to make my own phone using Raspbian or similar, rather than carry a closed platform for self-surveillance.
