« on: February 21, 2018, 11:48:50 am »
Have anyone tried to use a monitor stand with a stereo microscope?

I got a stereo microscope without a stand for free. I need a stand for it. We have a Leica at work with this kind of stand and it is the best I have used. Huge swing and very sturdy.

This is the microscope I got for free. Fully working but need a cheap but sturdy stand.

Wasn't an Amazon basics monitor stand the first one he linked to?

I've been wondering the same thing too. If you try one, let us know how it goes.

I'll order the North Bayuo F80 from Amazon.de. In youtube videos it looks well made. I'll post images after I have modified it for the microscope.

I used a monitor stand with my HDMI microscope.. pretty happy with it, though I had a table stand to start which I drilled to match the vesa mount and bolted it in place...

First question would be how much does your microscope weigh?  Then if you find a monitor stand to handle that much, plus the weight of whatever you need to add to attach the microscope to the monitor stand, I guess you'll be fine.

I received the stand. Next I have to model an adapter between the stand and microscope. I'll mill it out of aluminium.

They tend to be a wobbly image. Gave me headaches.

What sort of bench are you on?
What's the floor covering if any?
What construction is the floor, suspended (timber) or concrete?
Wall construction?

How did it turn out? I'm in a similar boat - have purchased a stereo microscope head but need a stand, lighting, etc. Thank you!
