Great. For such an expensive oscilloscope there should be a good support like this.  :-+

The DSOX2002A scope has a weird AC mains socket, I must say. Is it only soldered in the PCB and not fixed by screws??? On the other hand, it's easy to repair (solder again), but it looks weird and not solid at all.
I am not an author of the pictures.

This is how Tektronix does the AC mains. It is always mounted with screws into the steel chassis. I am not an author of the pictures.

Rigol's AC mains sockets are always mounted to the chassis with screws. Even the very cheap DS1000 has a solid, well mounted AC socket.

I am not sure if GW Instek mounted the AC mains into the metal chassis, but at least it is fixed into the PCB with proper screws.

And for those of us willing to do research, instead of just making assumptions based on half the picture.

What am I missing?  I don't see Dave removing any additional support from the IEC socket...

No, but you can see the two screws right there on the bottom of the PCB.

Well, it's hard to catch but finally I noticed it. But it still would be better if they somehow fixed the AC mains plug to the metal chassis...

It's securely fixed to a fairly rigid PCB which is screwed to the chassis.

Believe me, it's fine.

Wow, you have a good eye!  I had to play that part half a dozen times before I caught it.  Thanks for the "evidence" :-)

Is there any "Warranty void if seal is broken" label or other type of seal on DSOX2000? I couldn't find any. That's strange! Isn't the label inside the scope? Or are the screws glued or something?

I would expect something like this sticker on Rigol DS4000.

You can enable the MSO logic analyzer if you turn on the 30-day trial. You don't need any special digital probe. The digital connector on the DSOX2000 scope has this layout.
Edit:The input resistance is about 10k Ohm.

I would like to know if the digital connector is protected against high voltage like the analog channels. I could not find any information on this.
I only found photos of the internal digital channels circuitry. Photos taken by Dave. There seem to be some transils or something...

Now it is clear that the maximum input voltage is + - 40V. There is probably only an 90k Ohm in each channel. There is probably almost nothing in the small box.

Today my DSOX2002A scope restarted itself once. Then i saw this screen. After that it works fine again. I think that this is because of the embedded Windows. It looks like an error message that appears at our PCs from time to time.  :(

On the topic of stuck pixels, I have a two-monitor setup. They're both Acer monitors, one of which I bought used for only $10 (the bigger one). It's had a stuck red pixel since I bought it, and when I first got it I tried for like 15 minutes to massage it out and it wouldn't work.

Then I read the posts earlier and thought, what the heck, I'll try again, and after two or three minutes bang! It fixed! I'm so happy I had to post about it!  :-+ :-+ :-+ :-/O :-/O :-/O

Is there any power up times or Operating hours counter in DSOX2000? Isn't there a secret service menu or something? I could not find it. Well, many cheap scopes have this.

Im sorry to go a bit of topic, but I just got my MSOX3034. It apparently was a demo unit, and I got it for a nice price! =D I was puzzled to see that all the options were enabled when I got it. Do the trials always display their expiration date next to them?

I have seen it mentioned on here that demo units can have all the options enabled because their not supposed to be in your hands for extended periods of time. If this is the case I am one happy little camper!

If I am correct, then, what are the "*" next to the options?

Edit: Image issues

Well, the "*" probably means a demo mode... But I wonder why there is no expire date shown.
