Sawstop cartridge teardown.
« on: May 26, 2022, 10:32:47 am »
I got my hands on a triggered Sawstop cartridge from a friend. (No flesh was involved. Semi-wet wood made him buy another one and I got this one for fun (and parts).)

The overal mechanical design is probably better explained in many youtube videos.

But I could not find highly detailed PCB photos so I took them myself  ;)

The capacitor is nice, after a day it shows ~2nA of leakage across 9V battery. What else could be reused?  ::)

I also wonder why they used so many parts? I thought that it is a relatively simple device.
