Sleep problem with my ATTEN 858D+

I have recently received my ATTEN 858D+ from the mail!
On my unit the sleep mode is very dodgy, it doesn't want to work most of the time. I turn it on and it goes to sleep if on the holder, but then I use it for a bit and the sleep mode doesn't want to work anymore and I have to reset the device to get it to work again. What may be the possible causes of this problem?

Are you sure you interpret the behavior right? If the gun is hot and you place it in the holder, the fan will continue to run for a couple of minutes to cool it down. On my unit it can take many seconds, maybe minutes before I see the temp starting to decline. Its probably due to thermal mass and/or the temp sensor location.

Or do you mean that the unit _never_ goes to sleep, even after a couple of minutes?

My bad! I didn't think that that was a feature. I thought it was a problem with my unit. :-[

Yeah I already noticed that, the problem is while it cools down it starts to fry my wall...
