This is really hitting my nerves. Sudenly, blue display backlight randomly goes up for a fraction of a second, once every while. It does that when the unit is switched off properly, just sitting cold on my desk. I am not making this up. I opened the unit and clearly, AC-L (only) is switched wire to PSU. Can someone please tell me what to look for?

Is there a cap across the switch?
Maybe measure resistance/capacitance across the switch, see if its normal or off.

You can also do what I advise: plug all soldering equipment into a switched power bar, and only use the power bar to switch all equipment on and off (including a light + fan).
