Pace might need to remove its Made in USA badge
« on: June 16, 2019, 12:11:12 pm »
Just looking at the new ARM-EVAC 150 fume extraction system and noticed something odd. The LCD/Remote has the typical look and chintzy feel of most Chinese designed hardware:

- https://www.amazon.com/PACE-Arm-Evac-150-Extractor-SteadyFlex/dp/B07QF3KMFY - better images

Just doing a little digging it looks like it is being made in China by your typical re-badging suppliers:

Going deeper, the sales rep in this video is a bit reluctant to announce that it's not made by Pace, but made under licence for Pace:

So just a warning, this unit is probably not .

What gives Pace?

Well spotted. Was going to say, it doesn't matter since they didn't specify "Made in USA" on the product page, but then they have that logo implying all parts on their site are.
On the plus side maybe that means you can buy generic filters for a lower price.

Apparently its good for nail salons too: "3, Mainly for hair salon, beauty salon, nail salon, manual soldering, solder pot."

That's looks like a pretty good price on Aliexpress
I've been looking for one so might have to pick one up. I must be decent is Pace a rebadging it.

EDIT: Just noticed the postage  :o

They are slightly different dimensions, so filters might not be interchangeable. Pace looks to be using the same design with their own chassis specifications in this instance (probably to prevent you from sourcing cheaper filters), unless there are other models out there that aren't coming up in the search (the terminology seems to be "smoke absorber", rather than fume extractor).

It was more that there's the logo on their footer on every page that implies everything is proudly made in the <DAVE VOICE>Yew-nighted steats awv ahhh-mericah</DAVE VOICE>.
