Soldering station to replace a Draper 40w which has died
« on: May 11, 2021, 11:19:49 am »
Hi all,

Sorry I know that this isn't exactly the most original post and I have read through some previous threads about soldering irons, but I've had this Draper 40W soldering station https://www.drapertools.com/product/61478/Soldering-Station-(40W) for about 2.5 years, only really been using it 18 months and it's stopped working.

I'd like to replace this one with a budget of about £50. I've taken a look on ebay but it's mainly new clones and the second hand ones are mainly high end ones out of my price range.

I have been looking at various different options but I'm trying to work out what I should be looking for, I understand controlable temperature rather than just controllable wattage is better.

I'd appreciate any suggestions of budget solder stations which would be a good shout and any thoughts on what features/specs I should be focusing on.

Thanks!
