This is a very common issue with AliExpress tips, some are really terrible!

Adjust standby timeout to 20 min, set error resume mode to "last", leave the tip cooking at 300°C, remember so add some solder to the tip to prevent oxidation!
Then check if the tip works better now.

Try tips from Quicko store, those are by far the best I got so far, zero issues with any!

Why thermocouple readings are jumping like crazy when I remove the tip?

Yes that's common hardware a design issue.
Add 1M resistor or increase IRON / Error timeout to 1-2s so it doesn’t resume fron errors that fast.

I've added 1MΩ pullup resistor. It worked. Thank you.

I have one more problem though. I use a stand with the SHAKE pin connected to it. When I lift the tip off the stand and put the station into sleep mode by pressing the encoder twice, it sometimes wakes up by itself. Without me touching it. I'm not sure why this is happening. Maybe some interference?

The ball is very sensitive to any vibration.
Invert the switch position in the handle or enable shake filter.

I didn't solder shake wire from the shake sensor inside the plug. Shake pin is connected with the stand and works fine, except accidental wakeups sometimes.

Strange, shouldn't wake ever then.
Maybe issues with the voltage regulator getting too hot?
Anyway, check for bad soldering joints in resistors, stm32... Has happened in plenty of Handskit boards.

Button Wake option is not available in Wake mode: Stand. However, it would be useful to be able to wake the station from sleep/standby mode using the encoder when the handle is not placed on the stand. Sometimes I put it into sleep by pressing the encoder insted of placing the handle on the stand. In that situation the only way to wake it up is to touch the stand. Of course, the encoder would not wake up the station if the handle was placed on the stand.

Sorry, I missed it was the stand.
Likely a bad contact or vibration between the handle and the stand.

Hmm... Idea for the future: Enable button wake in stand mode, only for click event.

It works, I measured those tips out of curiosity and they are all above 17 ohms. I will not buy from that store again. Thanks.

Hello,
I have a KSGER V2.1S board, very similar to the one pictured on github:

It's currently wired to a T12 Handle, but I bought a C245 handle and would like to use it.
I've browsed all the pages of this thread, but I'm Very confused about how should I wire it...

Some posts mention a jumper/resistor to be removed, does this PCB need the modification?
Where is the Jumper? And I've also read that instead of removing the Jumper a 1MOhm resistor should be inserted, is it correct?

And how should I wire the handle?
There are 3 wires: Green,Blue and RED (going from the tip to the tail of the cartridge),
Are these GND, Sensor and +Voltage (the T12 uses these colors) or GND, +Voltage and Sensor?

Not very straightforward in this board!

The message
    putStrAligned("New/low batt?", 0, align_center);
    putStrAligned("Forgot last", 16, align_center);
    putStrAligned("used settings.", 32, align_center);
    putStrAligned("Restored dflt.", 48, align_left);

doesn't respect display flip X/Y settings.

That's because it's a failsafe message before the settings are loaded.

What stand are you using?

This happens when the handle is off stand and the station is put into sleep mode by double pressing the encoder.
But I've added a capacitor between the shake pin and ground to filter any noise and it looks it helped.

It was your comment about using a stand connected to the shake pin.  I was curious what stand you were using that could sense or detect the handle.  I don't see many.

https://aliexpress.com/item/1005006604163096.html

I had to make an isolation between the body and a wire sponge because it was triggering the sleep mode when cleaning the tip.
I chose the c245 version and made a small modification to place t12 handle.

Ive got the ksger board as shown in the image, cant seem to find the resistor draining the battery but the battery is always dead so i assume its there, the github also mentions this is a bad LDO design board, could someone explain the best fix for my situatuion? I plan on desoldering the batttery and using the connector bottom left instead aswell as replacing the MM32 with a genuine one i have flashed the cfw onto.

Im also wondering what the input voltage for these units are? Ive seen people use these with milwaukee batterys etc.

Also any ideas what connector i would need bottom left? Its not a JST ph2.0

Cheers  :)

12-24V will be fine, but the heating power will drop to 50% at 18V and 25% at 12V.

Probably the battery just died. Just fancy and not really needed. You could fit a 1-farad super capacitor which charges from 3.3V through a diode, use low leakage type, should hold for weeks.

As long as the LDO doesn't give problems, don't worry and  just use it as-is, if the station starts to reboot randomly then it's probably the regulador overheating.
There're several solutions in GitHub.

So if the battery is stable at 18v, say i use a 12ah milwaukee battery, and i calibrate the temp for the tip im using, aslong as the voltage stays pretty stable i should be fine to reach higher temps? and the battery isnt needed to save the tip profiles is it? thanks

No, the battery only stores very commonly changed settings (temperature, current tip etc), disabling the battery will simply use internal flash, no difference really.
