What happened to my HAKKO FX-888D?
« on: January 22, 2015, 03:12:05 pm »
Hi everyone! I'm a fan of EEVblog for a long long time! This is the first time I post on EEV forum. :)
Today, I have a question and I need your help!
I bought a genuine HAKKO FX-888D for a month. Recently, I got an electric shock form the cord (the wire between the HAKKO body and the handle). I use a simple Electric Voltage Detector and apply it to the cord and the light turn on (This mean there is an electronic discharge).

p/s My Hakko is not connect to the ground (In my country there is only 2 wire on the plug - not the Ground wire), I guest if I connect it to the ground it will not shock me or make the EVD turn on. But the high quality product as HAKKO still have leakage power? Unbeliveable!

I wonder if it is normal or not?

Sorry about my bad English. :(

Thank you!!!!!
