What is this?
« on: February 03, 2023, 10:26:29 pm »
Well, obviously, it's a flashlight, but I couldn't find a thing about it on the internet.  It doesn't seem to open in any way, and there's a switch with two positions; "on" and "recharge."  I experimented with charging by connecting my power supply to the two metal terminals.  It took 1-2 mA at 4V, but a red charging light didn't come on until it reached 7V, so I assume it contains two lithium cells.  I've had it charging for 2 days now, but it won't take more than about 7 mA.  The red charging LED illuminates, so I assume I have the polarity correct.  No sign of overheating, but I assume the cells have been dead for so long that they don't take much of a charge.  I have brought back other cells.  It looks like some sort of small light that clips into a charger.  Diamar seems to be a ski equipment manufacturer, but there's no mention of flashlights on their website.

The chromed end looks as if it might fit into a car lighter socket  - i.e. it might be 12V.

I never thought of that. Thanks.

I actually attached 4 pictures, but it only shows 1.
The preview feature doesn't work either. Kinda sucks.

Thanks for the help. I gave it the full 12V and it stayed around 7 mA, but the red charge light brightened right up.
The lamp itself is also good and bright; maybe 50 lumens.  I don't know how long it will run, but that's not too important for a light like this.
I can see why it charges at a low rate, being always plugged into the 12V socket

The attachment system is a bit broken. Instead of using the drag and drop or the first browse button you are better of using the "(more attachments)" option and the new browse button that gives for an attachment. Repeat the step for more attachments.
