A scope mainframe by any change? Next to find the timebase to slide into the slot then...

OK, take a guess what the attached might be :)

Next to find the timebase to slide into the slot then...

It's not necessary to have that timebase speed, and not easy to use really that bandwidth,
but it's soo nice to know that if it's needed... ;)
For now it's a broken equipment waiting to be repaired, I hope that the problems are easy fix,
because probably it's not simple to find spare pieces.

OK, take a guess what the attached might be :)

Well, deepheaven beated me on the time,
I guess:

That would be a Tektronix R7103 oscilloscope mainframe

It's the rackmount version of the Tek 7104 1GHz mainframe and only has space for one timebase plugin.

Great find but be careful not to burn the CRT since it has the MCP accelerator.
Also if it's from the late 80's it may have a different readout board that will display slightly different characters on the CRT.

Looking forward to the teardown!
One can never have enough oscilloscopes.

So Kremmen was correct :)

Tekfan, simply perfect, when I wrote this:
Quote
for many of you this isn't too difficult
it was referring to you :)

You nailed perfectly also the readout, this unit
probably had problems with the readout and
mounts the 670-8622 that is different from the
one reported in the service manual I have.
Thank to TekScopes yahoo group I found
that this board is  used also in the 7934 and
the schematic is in the service manual of the 7934.
