which scope is wothy?

see following two scopes

Rigol DS1052E

UNI-T utd2052ECL

from what I see UNI-T has large display but low memory depth comparing to rigol but its cheap

shipping is $15 for both

what is your opinion?

Does anyone else find it funny that his name is tekfan and he is endorsing Rigol.

However I agree, having the choose between either of the two, the winner would be Rigol.

 I don't even like DSOs but I would also say Rigol.

If you ever have cause to look for low frequency noise,like hum,on a high frequency signal,you will appreciate
larger memory depth.
DSOs without much memory depth lower their sampling rates as time/div is increased,with resultant aliasing
problems.

A classic,standard test at TV stations was to look for hum,clamping error,etc on an analog video signal.
Even the early (1990s) DSOs from such illustrious firms as HP & Tektronix failed this test.

I don't have a Rigol,but from what I've read on this forum,it would pass.
If all you will ever do is look at signals at or around their period,maybe the UN-T would de adequate,but you may
find your requirements change.
Or, you could buy a secondhand Tektronix analog Oscilloscope,unless you really need all the DSOs "bells & whistles".

I dont like to buy a secondhand one coz they are used and has more chance of breaking down  :-\

Actually, most electronic devices are more likely to fail in the first few hours of operation than for some considerable time after that.

As long as it's properly engineered I don't care what brand it is.
The second thing is that memory depth is really useful, not only bandwidth and sample rate.
