Yihua 882D+ - Problems
« on: November 06, 2013, 07:19:52 pm »
After fixing my scope, with great help from this forum, my solderingstation broke down same day |O Picture of the thing here: http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/YIHUA-882D-Brushless-fan-rework-station/401349_488178717.html

The hot-air part works fine - But when turning on the regular iron, the display just says "S-E", and the iron does not heat up.

I can't find a manual for this damn chinese thing. Btw. usually it works fine, very fast heat-up, etc. I was actually happy with it.

Any clues?

Maybe a bit obvious but have you checked the continuity of the element ?

On my XY-tronic station S-E stands for Sensor-Error. Check the temperature sensor in the handle.

Not yet, but will do when i come home from work.

That makes sense. I'll check it out later.

Drop test failed there, or you need to use some Copaslip on the new element to prevent it seizing on the element. It will smoke for a few minutes on the first power up but will be fine.
