Expertise equipment
« on: August 25, 2020, 04:35:05 pm »
Hi EEV community,

I'm looking for equipment to make expertise in Europe :
- metallographic cutting machine,
- polishing machine,
- microscope with integrated camera to take pictures and transfer them directly in a computer.

Do you know who can supply this kind of laboratory equipment ?

expertise:
noun
expert skill or knowledge; expertness; know-how: business expertise.
a written opinion by an expert, as concerning the authenticity or value of a work of art, manuscript, etc.

In other words, it's not clear what you are after...

Are you asking for advice on best suppliers for these types of machinery in Europe?  Best based on what?  Availability, cost, support, quality or ?

I doubt that I will be of any help on the answers, but a clearer question may get you more help from those who can help.

Polishing machine - something that uses lapping plates
metalographic cutting machine - precision diamond saw that likely has a low blade life but cuts a nice polished surface
microscope - i dont know

I imagine the polishing/cutting machine = how many steps do you want to have between cutting a metal sample and having it polished for acid etch? They used to do this by hand. Now you have machines with spinning expensive lapping plates that do it automatically.

They have autolap machines with a camera that measure surface finish in Ra with a camera and report it back IIRC, but 2nd hand plates are like 1000$?

Hi to all,

Polishing machine for laboratories is used after you've cut one to get a mettalographic cut :

Grinding machine for labs :

Best in class is High Quality with a LCD screen and some options to cut automatically the parts and you don't need to spend your time in front of the machine during the operation. This kind of equipment is expansive yes but the price isn't an issue.
I've found PACE Technologies in USA but they can't ensure the technical support in Europe.
Batronix or Butterfly, they don't resell this kind of lab equipment ???
