New bench, kinda
« on: December 28, 2015, 08:47:59 pm »
I am designing a thing to place on my table, where soldering iron, power supply, desoldering station and hot air rework station will be put in...

In the back of it I also got a 24" monitor, and leds on the bottom of the top plate. The leds got a shield in front so they wont get annoying. Keyboard for the computer I haven't decided on yet, but will probably just be a very small one.

I am considering 3D printing a mount of my Extech EX330 multimeter, and my Re:Load Pro electronic load will probably just stand in front of the pad I got on the table in front of the monitor.

But, are there anything else I am missing?

(all the things are ofc not just square boxes, but that is the maximum of space they can occupy)

You're going to have a soldering iron cord and two rubber air hoses draped across your bench?

This is why my soldering iron is on the front right side of my bench, and my hot air to the right of that. My hot air station is set back a bit, but I have a cutout in the bench top for the hot air hose to drop through. No way I'm splaying that mess over the top of my bench, no less in front of my computer monitor.

You might consider putting those items underneath the bench, up front. Not on top at the back. Hot air, in particular, often have a very short hose/cord, and the holder is sometimes designed for the hose to hang off the front of a bench.

I am left handed, so it wont go across. I very rare use the desoldering station (ZD-985), so having that go across isnt going to be a problem, and the wire and hose for that is plenty long for that too. I hadn't thought about the wire for the hot air station (atten 858D+), but after measuring it, it is long enough to reach everything easily, and also easy to make so it does not hang in front of the soldering iron all the time.

This isn't my main computer either, only thing the computer and monitor on this will be used for, is for schematics and such when populating pcb's and testing things on breadboard.

I can't have them go through the
