[Aust] LF navigation beacons closing down
« on: May 23, 2016, 11:12:24 am »
A whole heap of LF navigation beacons are planned to close down in a few days.

If you've got a 200 - 500kHz receiver it could be worth tuning around while you still can.

This video is a band scan done at night near Melbourne.   Speed it up and/or do something else as it's a long one!

The receiving setup was a  home made upconverter with ferrite rod antenna feeding an HF transceiver.  The description has links to lists of beacons.
