#133 Kenwood VFO 230 Repair

(1/1)

Radio Tech:
In this video we have a look at the Kenwood VFO-230.
Viewer sent it in complaining of unstable display

voltz:
Always an issue when the fault doesn't show itself. At least you found some dry joints and fixed those. What else can we do?
My only other course of action would be to get the lid on, allow the unit hours to get right up to temperature and just let it run.
If there are any unstable components, it should start to show up eventually.
Good chance its fixed. Or the problem may be elsewhere as you said.

Yes I agree, "what else can we do".
The unit ran all day yesterday with cover installed and did not miss a beat.  I feel comfortable letting it take the journey back home.
