3D printed shielding
« on: December 23, 2020, 10:00:58 pm »
Has anyone experience with conductive filament like Proto-pasta CDP11705 Composite Conductive PLA?  Any others?

This would be used to make cases for equipment that would normally be RF shielded within a metal case, mostly to shield from external RF ambient noise.

Thanks.

I would not use PLA in any device at all. It's glass transition temperature is only 60oC. Conductive spray/paint makes much more sense. https://www.mgchemicals.com/products/conductive-paint/conductive-acrylic-paints/copper-conductive-paint/
Also you will destroy printer nozzle in no time with such filaments.

Does seem to be too conductive... Probably would help but certainly wouldn't be close to a full metal shield.
